Congratulating Evelyn Mcfarlane of Doune on Raising Over £12,000 for the Brain Tumour Charity
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Evelyn Mcfarlane, of Doune, on raising over £12,300 for the Brain Tumour Charity, after her partner Billy Mcalister was diagnosed with terminal and incurable glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer, in July 2023; understands that Evelyn held a fundraising night for the Brain Tumour Charity on 30 March 2024 at the Doune Bowling Club and raised the sum of over £12,300 through online donations, raffle, tombola, disco and a silent auction for two signed Rangers FC strips, a bottle of Rangers FC champagne and a Rangers wreath made by Nic Does Felt from Doune; notes that the Brain Tumour Charity is the world’s leading brain tumour charity and the largest dedicated funder of research into brain tumours globally; understands that it is committed to saving and improving lives, to moving further and faster to help every single person affected by a brain tumour, and to seeking new treatments, offering the highest level of support and driving urgent change; praises the incredible fundraising efforts of Evelyn Mcfarlane, and wishes her and Billy all the best as they navigate the future.
