Newmains Community Trust Awarded Employer Charter Accreditation
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Newmains Community Trust on being awarded North Lanarkshire Council’s Employer Charter Accreditation; understands that Newmains Community Trust is the first community organisation to receive this accreditation; notes that the charter is based around four commitments by employers, including to pay all staff the real Living Wage, to employ North Lanarkshire residents, to use local businesses in the supply chain where possible, and to ensure fair work practices that attract and retain employees; understands that Newmains Community Trust aims to provide services and support that meet the needs and improve the lives of those who live and work in Newmains and the surrounding areas, and to provide opportunities for local people to develop skills and experiences that will improve the community; commends Newmains Community Trust on its ongoing work in the community, and wishes all the volunteers and staff the best for the future.
