Dedicated Lanarkshire Nurses Recognised for their Long Service
The motion
That the Parliament recognises Lanarkshire’s Community Nurses who were recognised for their service in receiving the Queen’s Nursing Institute Scotland award for long service; understands that 69 vastly experienced nurses who are dedicated to serving their local communities, some having served more than 40 years, received the prestigious Queen’s Nursing Institute Scotland award for long service, presented in the Sanctuary at University Hospital Wishaw; notes that the award, established in 1889 to mark Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee, is granted to nurses with more than 21 years of service in the community; notes that the recipients cover a number of roles, including district nursing, mental health, health visiting, treatment rooms and sexual health; congratulates all award recipients, thanks them for their service, and wishes them the best for the future.
