Paisley and District TUC Solidarity with People Seeking Asylum
The motion
That the Parliament expresses its appreciation to those who stand in solidarity with people seeking asylum and those fleeing war and persecution; notes what it sees as the valiant efforts made by activists across Scotland, including those from the West Scotland region, who have engaged in social, sporting and other activities in support of those temporarily accommodated at the Muthu Hotel in Erskine; congratulates Paisley and District Trades Union Council and Clydebank Trades Union Council on organising supportive demonstrations for 59 consecutive weeks until they were found alternative accommodation; thanks all those seeking asylum for, it considers, engaging positively with the local community, and wishes them a peaceful and productive future.
