Marjory Love Becomes Women's Over-75 Tennis World Number One

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Marjory Love, from Brookfield, on becoming the International Tennis Federation's Women's World Number One for those aged over 75; understands that the achievement came after winning the Women's Over 75 Singles title in Antalya, Turkey, with a 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 victory over Australia's Kerry Ballard; further understands that Marjory also won the Mixed Doubles title and, alongside Christine Lockhart, Christine Windmill and Rosemary Wilson, representing Great Britain, won the World Team Championships for women aged over 75 as they defeated France 2-1 in the final, and notes that Marjory has had an illustrious career in tennis and has been a member of Newlands Lawn Tennis Club for many years.
