Congratulating the Rosebank Distillery on its Reawakening

That the Parliament celebrates that Rosebank Distillery in Falkirk will open on 5 June 2024 after extensive investment and revitalisation of the site on the banks of the Forth and Clyde Canal in Falkirk, by Ian Macleod Distillers Limited; notes that James Rankine bought the maltings of the old Camelon distillery in 1840, and turned them into Rosebank, which remained in family hands until the First World War when it became part of the Distillers Company, and that, with most of its whisky used for blending, Rosebank’s owners eventually released a single-malt and reinforced its reputation as the “King of the Lowlands”; further notes that Rosebank closed in 1993, despite its revered malt distillation, and being renowned as the "King of the Lowlands"; believes that, against the odds, Rosebank was rescued by Ian Macleod Distillers in 2017 with the distillery to be rebuilt and brought back into family hands; celebrates that the much-loved Rosebank single-malt whisky will return to production in a state-of-the-art distillery, which includes a range of tour experiences for visitors, including Rosebank Reawakening, Rosebank Rekindled, Rosebank Revered, and further celebrates that Rosebank is back.
