Lennox Partnership and Creative Academy: Empowering Youth in Creative Industries

The motion

That the Parliament commends the efforts of the Lennox Partnership, which, through collaborations, has spearheaded best practice initiatives to empower young individuals aged 16 to 24 who are aspiring to thrive in the creative industries; understands that, established in 1988 as a social enterprise, the Lennox Partnership has grown over the years to become a successful service provider, supporting programme participants in Scotland's local authority areas, helping them to secure sustainable employment; acknowledges that the organisation has managed to access funding from a range of private sector sponsors to support the work that it is involved in; understands that, in 2023, the organisation partnered with Catch 22, a large charity based in England, to bring its successful Creative Academy to Scotland; acknowledges that funding for the Creative Academy is provided by TikTok, which, it understands, is keen to support unemployed young people to realise their ambitions; appreciates what it sees as the success of the programme, which has supported 170 young people, with 70 of them finding employment, and extends its best wishes to the organisation and its participants for continued success in the future.
