Ryan Pollock and the Sean Connery Talent Lab

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Ryan Pollock, from Wishaw, on his selection to partake in the Sean Connery Talent Lab programme; understands that the year-long programme, delivered by the National Film and Television School, is designed to challenge and inspire emerging filmmakers, and provides an opportunity for emerging filmmakers to increase the scale and ambition of their work through a structured programme; notes that participants will develop their skills and create six short films, working with a budget of £25,000 per project, with the financial and creative support of BBC Film; understands that Ryan was offered the place after submitting examples of his own work, and is one of six directors on the programme; further understands that Ryan previously shot two short films predominantly in and around Gowkthrapple, with his short film Bluebird featured as part of the Royal Scottish Academy’s 197th annual art exhibition at the gallery situated on Edinburgh’s Mound, and wishes Ryan the best for the future.
