3rd Bo'ness Scout Group Achieves Net Zero Goals
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the 3rd Bo’ness Scout Group on, it understands, becoming the first Scout group in the UK to operate on a net zero basis; believes that the group recently successfully installed new solar panels on its scout hall, which will support and sustain the group’s energy and running requirements in future years; appreciates the role of UCS Renewables in its partnership approach, sponsorship and installation of the solar panels; understands that the group has used the opportunity to include environmental education in its programme for the Scouts to teach their young people about their role in Scotland’s transition towards net zero; welcomes the effort of organisations like the Scouts in providing valuable extracurricular education, skills and activities for children and young people and celebrates the proactive role that they are playing in communities across Scotland, and wishes the group’s volunteers and young people all the best in the future.
