Celebrating Hamilton Churches and Eco-Congregation Scotland
The motion
That the Parliament notes that Eco-Congregation Scotland is hosting its annual gathering in Stirling on 25 May 2024; celebrates the involvement of churches from across Scotland, including St John’s Church, Church of Scotland, Hamilton South Church, St Ninian’s and St Cuthbert’s Roman Catholic Church, Cadzow Parish Church and Saint Mary's Scottish Episcopal Church, all representing the Hamilton area; understands that the AGM is focused on "Sustaining Hope"; applauds the work that Eco-Congregation Scotland volunteers are doing in their churches and communities to overcome barriers to tackling the climate and nature crises, including efforts to prevent ecocide; welcomes the commitment of congregations in Scotland and around the world towards achieving climate justice and protecting the planet, and wishes Eco-Congregation Scotland every success for 2024-25.
