Awakening the Festival by Enable Scotland Falkirk Branch

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes Awakening the Festival, which will take place in Callender Park on 2 June 2024, and will be organised by the Enable Scotland Falkirk branch; understands that the festival is Scotland's only festival exclusively for anyone with a disability, and is an event where families and friends come together to revel in music, food and unforgettable experiences; further understands that the festival was first established in 2018 and came about by listening to Enable Scotland members who found it frustrating trying to access a festival that did not segregate disabled people from the rest of the mainstream audience, and believes that the festival is an excellent celebration of unity and diversity, where differences are embraced and the spirit of inclusivity shines brightly.
