Jean Ewart, Bookbug Hero Award Nomination

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Jean Ewart, Bookbug Leader at Wishaw Library, on being shortlisted for the Bookbug Hero Award by the Scottish Book Trust; understands that Jean's Bookbug group is held at the local library, bringing together toddlers and their carers to join in with songs, rhymes and stories; acknowledges what it sees as the importance of Bookbug Sessions as being a great way to help engage mums, dads and carers to build relationships with their children through strengthening the links between learning and fun by helping to promote how stories, songs and rhymes support children’s brain development through emotional, thinking, language and literacy skills; thanks all the Bookbug leaders for their commitment to empowering children on their educational journey, and wishes Jean all the best at the awards.
