Milngavie Classic Car Show and Milngavie Week 2024

The motion

That the Parliament commends the Milngavie Business Investment District (BID) team who organise the annual Milngavie Classic Car Show, which took place on 1 June 2024 in the Milngavie precinct; notes that the event is now in its fifth year and kicks off Milngavie Week, which runs from 1 to 8 June and will host 60 events with the support of organisations like Milngavie Community Development Trust & Milngavie in Bloom; acknowledges the work that goes on in the background, and that Milngavie has a team of volunteers without whom these events would not be possible; appreciates that the volunteers are prepared to help the community come together for this highly successful week; understands that the event brings classic car owners from around Scotland to showcase their vehicles, and also includes entertainment and stallholders to create a fun family day out; welcomes the influx of visitors to the area, which boosts trade for local small businesses and supports the wider area as a destination, and wishes everyone involved in the event the very best of success.
