Victory for Uddingston Pipe Band Crowned Grade 2 UK Champion Drum Corps

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Uddingston Pipe Band on being crowned as Grade 2 UK champion drum corps, and finishing fifth overall as a band, at the 2024 UK Pipe Band Championships; understands that the championships were held on 18 May in Bangor, Northern Ireland, where a total of 76 bands competed under glorious early summer weather; further understands that the band participated with a new leading drummer and a total of 19 new members from the last season, and considers, therefore, the brand new drum corps' victory against the current world champions in their first championships to be an extraordinary victory; applauds every member for what it sees as their tireless effort and dedication, and believes that these qualities are reflected in this fantastic achievement; congratulates them once again on bringing home another triumph for the local community, and wishes them all the best for the upcoming British Pipe Band Championships in Forres on 8 June 2024, and for all other future endeavours.
