The motion

That the Parliament notes with concern the 39th Energy Transition Survey by Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce, which highlights that energy firms could look to leave the UK due to unfavourable policies for the industry; recognises that the report states that industry confidence in the UK has plunged to a record low, and suggests that £30 billion of investment could be lost if confidence is not restored urgently; believes that confidence will not be restored by an incoming UK Labour administration, which reportedly plans to increase the tax burden on the industry in order to fund the construction of nuclear power plants in England; understands that this would cause unimaginable damage to the Scottish economy, and considers that the only way to protect energy industry jobs in Scotland is with the full powers of Scottish independence.
