Banff Academy Leads with Holistic Learning Approach
The motion
That the Parliament commends Banff Academy pupils and staff for their innovative commitment to project learning via Pathfinder classes that foster confidence, resilience, communication, teamwork, problem solving and digital fluency and citizenship skills; understands that all pupils take part in the Pathfinder project learning about issues such as the spread of online disinformation and misinformation; further understands that the pupils are encouraged to find solutions to issues, including drafting parliamentary Bills and motions and campaigning to make change a reality, and recognises what it sees as the benefits of a holistic approach to education, based on project learning in terms of building good citizens and achieving positive destination outcomes, compared to a purely attainment education model.
