Congratulating Education Operations Manager, Des Dickson, on his Retiral from South Lanarkshire Council
The motion
That the Parliament recognises Des Dickson on his retiral from his role as educationoperations manager at South Lanarkshire Council; understands that Des has had along career in local government, working at South Lanarkshire since itsinception in 1996; further understands that tributes from his colleagues andlocal elected members warmly recognise Des’ absolute belief in the power ofeducation and his commitment to improving the experiences of all learners inSouth Lanarkshire and beyond; believes that in his committee role, Des acted asa consistent champion of the achievements and successes, large and small, ofstaff and learners through his regular celebrating success reports, which, itunderstands, demonstrated the positive difference education makes to the livesof learners and their families and shared good practice, and wishes him all thevery best for a happy and well-earned retirement.
