Landmark Transformation Connects with Nature
The motion
That the Parliament celebrates the colourful transformation of Grangemouth’s landmark Banana Bridge at the Grange Burn; acknowledges that the artist, Donna Forrester, who previously created the town’s Inchyra Park spitfire memorial, completed the work; understands that Ms Forrester braved several periods of terrible weather to complete the artistic work in a 10-day period; further understands that the mural design depicts the wildlife, which live in and around the burn and so helps raise awareness of local natural diversity; praises the Grangemouth and Skinflats Community Council for its initiative in agreeing the design and engaging the artist to complete the work; recognises the dedication of the community payback team in painting the railings as part of the project, and praises the whole team in refreshing a popular landmark for the town.
