Battle of the Badges Football Tournament 2024 in Aid of The Archie Foundation
The motion
That the Parliament recognises The Archie Foundation as it hosts its annual fundraising Battle of the Badge football tournaments, which take place across three NHS board areas, namely NHS Tayside, NHS Grampian, and NHS Highland; understands that The Archie Foundation was formed in 2000 to support the building of a new Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital, and now operates in the NHS Tayside and NHS Highland regions; notes that the charity raises funds to make a difference for local sick children to provide what it considers to be much-needed extras that are not already catered for by the NHS, including financial support, support for maternity and neonatal services, child bereavement services, play, allied health professional teams, specialist training and equipment, hospital accommodation and child-friendly environments; understands that the annual fundraising Battle of the Badge football tournaments bring together emergency service teams from across the police, fire service, NHS and paramedics, for a day of friendly competition on the football pitch, with each player being accompanied by a mascot who has benefited from the support of The Archie Foundation, and wishes all involved every success during the 2024 Archie Foundation Battle of the Badge tournaments.
