The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the news that a recent event in memory of a loving husband and father, who tragically passed away due to a stroke, was a fundraising success; understands that the Sparkling Afternoon Tea event, initiated by the Bundy family and held in the Westfield Lounge, at Falkirk Stadium, managed to raise over £3,000 for Stroke Association Scotland; understands that this event and the ongoing campaign to change stroke diagnosis guidelines in memory of the late Anthony Bundy that is led by his son, James, himself a Falkirk Councillor, attracted a huge attendance on 2 June 2024; further understands that there has been clear support for Scotland to take the lead in empowering people and saving lives by adopting #BEFAST as Scotland’s public health campaign for stroke; congratulates James’ mother, Selena Bundy, for all the event’s organising work; acknowledges that Anthony Bundy would have been celebrating his 54th birthday on 3 June 2024; wishes James all the very best in his #BEFAST campaign; commends the Bundy family on their tireless work in this regard, and expresses its sincere thanks to all the local residents who attended on the day and took part in the fundraising.
