Autism and Neurodiversity North Scotland Dinner

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Autism and Neurodiversity North Scotland (A-ND) on raising £80,000 in its second annual Think Different Dinner; understands that the sell-out event, which was held at Aberdeen's Union Kirk and was organised and managed by A-ND in conjunction with its PR partners, ThinkPR Scotland, featured a surprise appearance from the reigning two-time Europe's Strongest Man, Luke Stoltman, and the reigning three-time World's Strongest Man, Tom Stoltman, who has spoken at length publicly of how autism and neurodiversity has played a part in his own strongman career, regularly describing it as his "superpower"; notes that the funds raised will be used to help A-ND expand its services in the north of Scotland, including growth within key locations in the Highlands, with what it sees as innovative services such as Binky the Sensory Bus; recognises that there are estimated to be more than 22,000 neurodiverse individuals within Aberdeen city alone, and wishes CEO Billy Alexander and the rest of the team at A-ND well in their continued work in supporting people navigate the neurotypical world.
