Glasgow Woman Marks 40 Years of Volunteering

The motion

That the Parliament recognises, on National Volunteers’ Week 2024, the contribution of Margaret Anderson, of Glasgow, who is marking 40 years of volunteering at the Burrell Collection; understands that Margaret, a former history teacher, started volunteering at the museum in 1984; notes that Margaret gives free guided tours of the collection to visitors, interviews and trains new volunteers, and assists with volunteer policy and procedures at the museum, and commends Margaret for what it sees as her remarkable dedication to her volunteering role and for sacrificing her time and skills over the last 40 years to support what it sees as one of the city’s national treasures.
