NHS Borders Nurse Awarded Scotland’s Nurse of the Year

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Lynsey Russell of NHS Borders for being named Scotland’s Nurse of the Year at an awards ceremony by the Royal College of Nursing Scotland; understands that the senior charge nurse at NHS Borders works in the intensive therapy unit and was also announced as the winner of the Clinical Leadership Award earlier the same evening; notes that there was further success for NHS Borders as learning disability nurse, Rachel Gardiner, was awarded the Learning Disability Award as part of a team of Queen’s nurses; understands that both women have shown incredible dedication to their work and to the people of the Scottish Borders, and thanks them both as well as the other healthcare workers in NHS Borders who do invaluable work in keeping the region healthy and safe.
