The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the collaboration between NHS Grampian and the Teenage Cancer Trust to design a dedicated lounge for young patients the new ANCHOR Centre, which is being built on the Foresterhill Health Campus in Aberdeen; understands that all the features in the lounge, which is on the ground floor of the new centre, have been designed in consultation with members of the local Teenage Cancer Trust group, which is funding the furniture, gaming equipment, wall art and activities supplies for the lounge; further understands that the new ANCHOR Centre will adjoin the existing Radiotherapy Centre to create a single facility for all patients using haematology, oncology and radiotherapy day and out-patient services, serving around 65,000 out-patients each year; believes that this new lounge will provide an important dedicated space for younger cancer and blood disorder patients, allowing them to interact with their peers, relax or just have a quiet space to themselves, and hopes that the lounge will help make things easier for those seeking treatment at the new ANCHOR Centre.
