The Cholmondeley Awards for Poets

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Irvine poet, Gerry Cambridge, on winning the Cholmondeley Awards for Poets by the Society of Authors in London; understands that the Cholmondeley Awards have been, since they were introduced in 1966, important honorary awards that recognise poets’ sustained excellence across a body of work, and that they were founded by the late Dowager Marchioness of Cholmondeley; recognises that Gerry has published six books of poetry and a memoir about his teenage years around Irvine, The Ayrshire Nestling; commends Gerry on his skill and talent, and wishes him every success in the future.
