Congratulating Ali Murray’s Tartan Army Service
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Ali Murray, of Ness, Isle of Lewis, on his exemplary service as part of the Tartan Army at the EURO 2024 tournament in Germany; understands that Ali gained notoriety and praise from the European community for his decision to shelter an older German man from the rain with an umbrella in Cologne, and understands that Ali’s actions have inspired artwork and assisted in the EURO 2024 hosts calling the Tartan Army the "friendly army".
