The Exceptional Support and Conduct of the Tartan Army
The motion
That the Parliament praises what it sees as the exceptional support and conduct of the Tartan Army throughout Scotland’s participation in the 2024 UEFA European Football Championships in Germany; notes that an estimated 200,000 supporters travelled to Germany for Scotland’s group stage matches; commends the behaviour of Scotland fans in what it sees as their positive representation of Scotland abroad, with German news outlet Blick referring to the Tartan Army as "the friendliest army in the world", and Cologne newspaper Kolner Stadt-Anzeiger stating "We love you Scots"; believes that the support shown by the Tartan Army to the Scotland team during its group stage matches is the greatest of any team thus far at the European Championships, and hopes that all Scotland supporters have a safe journey home from Germany.
