Celebrating Scotland Loves Local Week from 26 August to 1 September 2024
The motion
That the Parliament notes that Scotland Loves Local Week, spearheaded by Scotland’s Town Partnership, takes place between 26 August and 1 September 2024; understands that the week is part of a national campaign with a local focus, which shines a spotlight on why choosing local is integral to building better, stronger, and more sustainable practices and communities for the future; believes that the week will help people understand the significant impact that choosing local has, by helping to build economic and environmental sustainability in local communities; further believes that localism is at the heart of building a stronger, fairer and greener Scotland, and encourages people in East Kilbride and across Scotland to support local businesses in Scotland Loves Local Week and throughout the year.
