Ameed Versace's 100-mile Ultra Walk for the Beatson Cancer Charity
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Ameed Versace on what it considers to be his remarkable achievement of completing a 100-mile ultra walk from Dundee to Glasgow in aid of the Beatson Cancer Charity; understands that, alongside raising funds and awareness for the Beatson Cancer Charity, the endeavour also celebrates the continuing work of the Scottish Ahlul Bayt Society (SABS) in supporting the systems that improve societal health and wellbeing; further understands that the achievement aims to help raise awareness of cancer screening, early detection and early treatment to improve health outcomes for all communities in Scotland, whilst promoting the Family Genetics Register in Scotland, which encourages people to understand and utilise what it sees as this valuable resource; recognises SABS' ongoing work in Scotland, allied with its contributions to this Beatson Cancer Charity fundraising initiative; commends Ameed for his dedication and perseverance, which, it believes, serves as inspiration for others, and wishes him and SABS all the success in their future endeavours.
