Kelty Gala 2024

The motion

That the Parliament notes the success of the 2024 Kelty Children's Gala, which was held on 29 June 2024; recognises that the theme of the 2024 gala was mining heritage, to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the miners' strike; acknowledges that the family day out provided lots to see and do, with various stalls and performances; understands that this is an annual event in the calendars of families from Kelty and beyond, with much excitement leading up to the event on the day; believes that events like these are only possible due to the local fundraising efforts of individuals, groups and businesses; thanks all volunteers for the hard work and effort that has gone into organising the children's gala over the year, particularly as it was the new committee's first year of organising the gala; believes that events like this would not be possible without volunteers, and thanks them for this; wishes the team all the very best with its preparations for 2025, and encourages local people to volunteer their time for next year.
