BP Aberdeen Hydrogen Energy Limited
The motion
That Parliament welcomes that BP Aberdeen Hydrogen Energy Limited is a joint venturebetween BP, headquartered within the Aberdeen Donside constituency, andAberdeen City Council; further welcomes its commitment to deliver a scalablegreen hydrogen production, storage and distribution facility in the citypowered by renewable energy; understands that the Aberdeen Hydrogen Hub isplanned to be developed in three phases in response to growing demands forhydrogen; notes that the joint venture secured funding from the ScottishGovernment’s Just Transition Fund, Aberdeen City Council and Strand Two of theUK Government’s Net Zero Hydrogen Fund, and further notes that future phases,if approved, could see production scaled up through further investment tosupply larger volumes of green hydrogen for rail, freight and marine, as wellas supply of hydrogen for heat.
