Mossend Primary School Pupils Teach Digital Skills to Residents at Unitas Court Retirement Complex

The motion

That the Parliament commends the pupils of Bellshill's Mossend Primary School for what it sees as their transformative role in boosting the digital skills of residents at Unitas Court Retirement Complex; understands that this initiative is part of the innovative Driving Digital Locally intergenerational programme, developed and run by North Lanarkshire Council, which aims to educate older residents about digital technology through one-to-one training with young people; further understands that the programme fosters meaningful interactions, where residents share childhood memories and favourite songs with pupils, followed by the pupils teaching essential digital skills and introducing new technologies; acknowledges what it considers to be the crucial role of enhancing digital literacy in today's world, and values the unique opportunity that this programme provides for pupils to teach a skill that they are passionate about, thereby building their confidence and gaining lifelong abilities; celebrates what it sees as the profound impact of intergenerational learning in cultivating inclusive communities and nurturing mutually beneficial relationships between older and younger generations; commends all participants, and hopes to see the expansion of such enriching projects across the Uddingston and Bellshill constituency.
