Team Scotland Wins the World Schools Debating Championships 2024

That the Parliament recognises and congratulates Team Scotland’s achievement in winning the World Schools Debating Championships 2024; acknowledges the five pupils who represented Scotland as Sophie Hannigan, Miya Turner, Logan Moss, Callum Hendry and Lena Zielinska, from Broxburn Academy, St Columba’s School, Dollar Academy and Portobello High School; recognises that Scotland was initially ranked 11th out of 68 countries this year before coming first after defeating Bulgaria in the final; celebrates that this as the fifth time that Scotland has been awarded this trophy; congratulates the team on their incredible achievement and hard work, and wishes the pupils every success in the future.
