Lumphinnans Primary School Hosts Big Thank You Event

The motion

That the Parliament recognises that Lumphinnans Primary School recently hosted a "Big Thank You" event for members of the local community in partnership with Fife Housing Group; understands that the event was part of an initiative called Rising Community Voices, which sees social housing landlords partner with schools to empower young people to organise and deliver an event, which will have a positive impact in their local area; further understands that the purpose is to teach practical skills, encourage collaboration and provide an opportunity to bring people together while giving back to their communities; notes that the children began organising an afternoon tea and invited church elders, community council members, care home staff and residents; understands that it gave young people the chance to serve their guests food and chat with them; thanks pupils and staff at Lumphinnans Primary School and Fife Housing Group for putting on a successful event, and wishes them all the best in the future.
