Congratulating Scott Brash MBE and the Olympic Show Jumping Team

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Peebles-born Scott Brash MBE and horse, Jefferson, for their outstanding performance in the Olympic show jumping arena, helping secure a gold medal for Great Britain in the team show jumping event; acknowledges what it considers to be the immense pressure and the remarkable achievement of delivering a clear round; commends the entire British team, including Ben Maher with Dallas Vegas Batilly, and Harry Charles with Romeo 88, for their exceptional performances and teamwork, which helped to secure the first gold medal in the event since the London 2012 games; recognises the invaluable support of background staff, and commits to supporting equestrian sports and the continued development of athletes and horses in pursuit of excellence on the global stage.
