Marie Shevas Retires after 50 Years in the Travel Industry
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Marie Shevas, formerly of Moorelands Travel, on her retirement after working for 50 years within the travel industry; recognises that Marie has been at the helm of Moorelands Travel since 2002, having set up shop in Cowdenbeath High Street as she became Barrhead Travel's first franchisee; further recognises that Marie was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in 2021 for her charity work, which, it understands, has seen her raise over £800,000 for good causes; notes that Scott Paterson has taken over at the helm of Moorelands Travel since Marie's retirement; understands that Marie is looking forward to having more time to spend with her family in retirement, and wishes Marie and her family all the best going forward.
