£90,000 Funding Boost for Kingdom Off Road Motorcycle Club

The motion

That the Parliament recognises the recent funding award of £90,000 to Kingdom Off Road Motorcycle Club, from Foundation Scotland's Tackling Inequalities fund; understands that the money will go towards supporting young people and harnessing their energy through the adrenaline-inducing sport; notes that the club was set up in 2003, aiming to make safe off-road motorcycling more accessible for people of all ages in a bid to reduce antisocial and illegal use of off-road motorcycles; understands that the club has significantly reduced antisocial behaviour and illegal off-road riding elsewhere in Fife thanks to the partnership working with Police Scotland and other agencies; recognises that, with this new funding stream, the programme can now expand into the Cowdenbeath area, as well as Glenrothes and Kirkcaldy, offering up to 70 young people the chance to join; commends the club for all the work that it is doing with young people, and wishes it all the very best in expanding its programme.
