Ground Breaks on New Cardenden Scout Hall

The motion

That the Parliament recognises that ground has officially been broken at the site of the new Cardenden Scout Hall after the previous hall burned down around five years ago; understands that this tragedy promoted a major fundraising effort for a new dedicated space; further understands that the group raised an incredible £300,000 to fund the new hall, with the children themselves raising £25,000; understands that support was provided from the community and local businesses, including the Fife Environmental Trust, which gifted £36,000 towards the hall; notes that the new facility will be based behind St Ninian's Primary School, which will be able to be used for meetings and keep fit activities, as well as to rent for parties and events; commends the fundraising efforts of the young people, volunteers and families at the 4th Fife Scout Group, and wishes them all the very best as the hall comes together.
