Congratulating George Robesten on His Scottish Premiership Debut

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the former Scalloway footballer, George Robesten, on making his Scottish Premiership debut on 10 August 2024, playing for Ross County against Dundee United; understands that the 18-year-old moved to Shetland aged around 10 and played with Trondra, Scalloway and Burra, as well as the Scalloway men’s team, before being signed up with Ross County on an apprenticeship when he was 16; further understands that Mr Robesten has had to work hard to overcome multiple injuries, displaying determination and dedication to his sport; congratulates Mr Robesten on his first competitive appearance for Ross County, and wishes him success in his football career.
