Bearsden Martial Arts Club Raises £10,760 for Kidney Research UK

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Bearsden Martial Arts Club on raising £10,760 forKidney Research UK at its Summer Bash charity event; understands that the eventtook place on 3 August 2024 at Milngavie Town Hall from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm, inwhich the participants took part in an all-day endurance challenge, trainingfor eight hours straight; recognises that the group chose this challenge tosupport one of its members who was recently diagnosed with a kidney condition;notes that it is estimated that around 7.2 million people in the UK currentlylive with chronic kidney disease; believes that the Bearsden Martial Arts Clubhas done essential work highlighting the disease and raising funds to improveresearch, and thanks the club sincerely for what it sees as its selfless andoutstanding fundraising to help people most in need.
