SSEN Community Funding
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the launch of SSEN Transmission's first ever Community Benefit Fund; understands that the fund will allow organisations across the north of Scotland to apply for a share of £2 million for projects that will aid skills development, support the culture of local communities, and help alleviate fuel poverty, with the deadline for applications on 22 November 2024; further understands that this initial £2 million is being released from SSEN Transmission's opening £10 million Regional Community Benefit Fund, which is due to be followed by more local community funds in 2025 and is expected to reach over £100 million in total for local projects; believes that this funding can be of great use in helping projects and communities close to the infrastructure being developed by SSEN Transmission, and hopes that many organisations can benefit from this funding now and in the months to come.
