Cairns Counselling
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Cairns Counselling in Aberdeen on receiving a £17,008 grant from the National Lottery Community Fund; understands that this 12-month award will be used to fund a counselling service manager whose role will be to manage the recruitment and induction of new volunteers to increase the size of the counselling volunteer team; notes that Cairns Counselling provides a space for people to discuss any difficulties that they are facing in life with a counsellor without fear of being judged, including life events, relationships, patterns of behaviour and ways of thinking, helping people to identify the right course of action through a variety of counselling approaches; believes that services such as Cairns Counselling are crucial to tackling society’s rising mental health challenges, and wishes the staff and volunteers at Cairns all the best with their endeavours.
