Music 4 U
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Music 4 U in Aberdeen on receiving a £20,000 grant from the National Lottery Community Fund; understands that this funding will allow the group to employ a support worker to deliver training and employability skills over a 12-month period, in its social enterprise café, to young people living in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire who are 16 and over with additional support needs; notes that Music 4 U, which has been operating since 2003 and is based in Aberdeen city centre, is an inclusive provider of performing arts classes, welcoming participants from all backgrounds, including those with support needs, delivering tailored learning experiences in a supportive, fun and friendly environment; further notes that its social enterprise café, The Ivories Coffee Shop, is based at The Courtyard on Clarence Street and has been running since October 2022; hopes that this funding will help many people to improve their employability skills over the course of the next year, and wishes everyone at Music 4 U and The Ivories Coffee Shop well in their endeavours.
