Clydebank Schoolgirl Raises Over £600 for Beatson Cancer Charity

The motion

That the Parliament commends Courtney Devenney, who raised over £600 for BeatsonCancer Charity in memory of her father, Joseph, who passed away fromoesophageal cancer in 2019; understands that the 13-year-old raised £75 fromselling her toys and used some of the money to set up a lemonade stand, whichalso sold bracelets, posters, and from which she also held a raffle; furtherunderstands that this is one of many examples of Courtney’s charityfundraising, having previously collected more than £1,000 in 2020 for theBeatson in memory of her dad, completed the Kiltwalk from Clydebank to Ballochin 2023; understands that she now has plans to do a zip line over the River Clyde, andthanks Courtney for what it considers is her amazing courage, entrepreneurialspirit and selfless acts of kindness to raise money for charity in memory ofher father.
