GLitter Team Cleans Up at Beautiful Scotland Awards 2024

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the success of Let’s Get Grangemouth Clean, also known as the GLitter Team, at the Beautiful Scotland Awards 2024; notes that the group was successful in winning the Large Town Award and the New Entrant Award, which is presented to a first-time entrant that demonstrates endorsement and development of the Beautiful Scotland pillars; understands that the initiative started as a campaign in 2018 to remove excessive amounts of litter from the town and waterways, but has flourished to a team of volunteers who have, it understands, planted trees and plants and instilled a great sense of pride in the community; understands that the Beautiful Scotland Awards are organised by the environmental charity, Keep Scotland Beautiful, to celebrate the achievements of individuals and groups in enhancing their local areas; congratulates the GLitter Team on its achievements, and wishes it well in its future endeavours.
