Celebrating Jane Yakovleva's Mont Blanc Climb to Fulfil Wishes for Cumbrae House Residents
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the news that Jane Yakovleva, a dedicated Glasgow care home worker, climbed 4,800 metres up Mont Blanc in August 2024 to raise funds for residents at Cumbrae House, including those receiving dementia care and palliative care, helping them to fulfil a wish from their bucket list; notes that Cumbrae House, part of the Oakminster Healthcare group and located in the north west of Glasgow, near St George’s Cross, provides residential, nursing, specialist dementia, palliative and respite care to 66 local residents, and considers that Jane’s commitment to directing all funds towards residents highlights her pride in her work and serves as an inspiration to her colleagues.
