Aberdeen Success at the Keep Scotland Beautiful Awards

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates everyone involved with Aberdeen Communities Together, which is led by Aberdeen City Council, on their recent successes at the Keep Scotland Beautiful Awards 2024; recognises that Aberdeen Communities Together won four awards at the awards ceremony, which was held in the Granite City, with the list of prizes including the prestigious Rosebowl trophy, which is given to the overall winner across all categories receiving the highest overall marks; understands that Aberdeen will now be put forward to the UK-wide Britain in Bloom finals; notes that, in addition to the awards won by Aberdeen Communities Together, Brighter Bucksburn received a certificate of recognition in the non-judged category; recognises that 2024 marks 60 years since Aberdeen first started competing in both the Britian in Bloom and Beautiful Scotland competitions, and marks what it sees as Aberdeen’s extensive success in both competitions, with the city winning medals every year since 2008; commends the efforts of Steven Shaw and Aberdeen City Council’s Environmental Services team, as well as all the volunteers at Aberdeen Communities Together, for their continued efforts to make Aberdeen’s parks and green spaces welcoming spaces for all, and wishes them the best of luck at the Britain in Bloom finals.
