The Inaugural Lanarkshire Climate Action Festival
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the inaugural Lanarkshire Climate Action Festival, which is currently taking place across Lanarkshire; notes that the festival is being organised by the Lanarkshire Climate Action Hub, which is one of 20 hubs across Scotland funded by the Scottish Government to support community climate action; further notes that the wide programme of events planned is in collaboration with local organisations, including Clyde Cycle Park in Cambuslang, the David Livingstone Centre in Blantyre, and Grow 73 in Rutherglen; understands that many of the activities have been planned to tap into wider concerns that communities are expressing on issues such as reducing energy use in the face of rising bills and growing and preparing food, and wishes the organisers of the festival every success in their ongoing work with local communities.
