Recognising and Congratulating Scottish Badgers

The motion

That the Parliament recognises that 2024 is the Silver Jubilee year of Scottish Badgers, a small Scottish charity based in the North East Scotland region; congratulates the charity on winning the Nature of Scotland Awards' Health and Wellbeing category in November 2023; further congratulates it on being awarded a National Lottery Community Fund grant in 2024 to provide opportunities for LGBTQ+ people to develop new skills in the outdoors and to learn more about biodiversity; applauds what it sees as its truly inclusive approach to providing nature connection for people; notes its commitment to protecting the natural environment and reversing biodiversity loss for future generations; thanks all those involved in Scottish Badgers' nationwide survey, Get Sett Scotland 2022-25, who are helping to advance knowledge about badgers, and notes the hope for there to be further opportunities to develop this inclusive approach to providing nature connection for people across society.
