Falkirk Schools Pipe Band Celebrates Big Wins

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the Falkirk Schools Pipe Band on its recent successes; understands that the band secured a total of seven trophies in 2024, including one from a competition held in Gourock, alongside a further six between the Cowal Highland Gathering and a competition in Peebles; notes that the band, formed of pupils from across the Falkirk district, is in only its second year of competing and is already celebrating a string of huge successes; understands that the band has been invited to participate in the world famous Tartan Day celebrations in New York in April 2025 alongside the Renfrewshire Schools Pipe Band and the Oban High Pipe Band; recognises the extensive opportunities that stem from participating in performance-based extracurricular activities, including sharing Scotland’s heritage and culture on the world stage at events such as the Tartan Day celebrations, and wishes everyone involved every success in the future.
